Doug Garn

Chief Executive Officer and President, Quest Software

Doug Garn is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Quest Software. Garn was recently appointed to the position of CEO after serving as the company's president since 2005. As president, he was responsible for driving the day-to-day product and sales operational areas, including directing the operations and strategies of the worldwide sales, marketing and product teams. Previous to that, Garn served as vice president of worldwide sales, responsible for driving the company's worldwide sales operations and strategies. He has been a primary contributor to the company's double-digit growth. Garn joined Quest in 1998 from Peregrine Systems, Inc. where he was vice president of North American Sales.

Carol Fawcett

Vice President, Global Information Services

Carol Fawcett serves as Quest Software's vice president of Global Information Services, responsible for aligning the company's global business needs and strategy with appropriate technology and process plans. Fawcett organizes and directs the Quest's worldwide IS activities and provides critical feedback to the business, as well as to Sales, external customers and prospects on the company's experiences using Quest products. Fawcett joined Quest in 2000 as the director of IS, responsible for the company's implementation efforts around Oracle and all other enterprise applications, such as Siebel and Clarify. Prior to joining Quest, she served as director of IS at Western Digital. Fawcett has 25 years of experience with financial, manufacturing, CRM, HR/Payroll, marketing and sales force automation applications. She has also directed efforts reaching successful companywide certifications with both ISO900x and Sarbanes-Oxley programs. Fawcett holds a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from National University in San Diego, California
 
Kim Kinnison

Vice President of Worldwide Support, Quest Software

Kim is responsible for all aspects of support worldwide. Prior to assuming this role in 1999, Kinnison was the director and manager of technical support. From 2001 to 2004, she took on the additional role of vice president of human resources with responsibility for the company's personnel and staffing infrastructures, and also served as vice president of Information Services from 1999 to 2001. Kinnison joined Quest in 1991 as a technical support engineer and prior to Quest held positions as a systems programmer at Hughes Aircraft and instructor/consultant at Hewlett Packard. She has a bachelor's degree in computer information systems from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Jackson Shaw

Senior Director, Product Management, Quest Software

Jackson Shaw has been involved with directory, meta-directory and security initiatives for almost twenty years. He has spoken at various industry events and writes a popular identity management blog. Jackson oversees product direction, strategy and go-to-market activities for Quest’s suite of Active Directory management products.   Jackson joined Quest Software with its acquisition of Vintela. Prior to Quest, he worked for Microsoft Corp, where he was responsible for product planning and marketing for Microsoft's identity and access management products, including Active Directory and Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) 2003.   Before joining Microsoft in 1999, Jackson served as vice president of sales for Toronto-based ZOOMIT, and held IT held IT management roles at the International Development Research Centre.   Jackson has been involved in directory, meta-directory, and security initiatives since 1988. He studied computer science and management information systems at the University of Ottawa. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery.

Joel Oleson

Senior Product Manager and Evangelist, Quest Software

At Quest, Joel is responsible for product direction and strategy. He is well known in the SharePoint community as an enthusiastic trainer, evangelist and architect and he maintains a popular blog. Joel is a frequent speaker at popular technical conferences, such as Microsoft TechEd, and often presents to local SharePoint user groups. Prior to Quest, Joel worked at Microsoft and was a part of the first Microsoft global deployment of SharePoint. During his Microsoft tenure Joel helped various customers achieve the critical governance they needed to upgrade and achieve scale with SharePoint 2007. He would later design the extranet and hosted SharePoint deployments.

Brent Ozar

SQL Server expert, Quest Software

Brent Ozar is a SQL Server Domain Expert with Quest Software. Brent has a decade of broad IT experience, performing systems administration and project management before moving into database administration. In his current role, Brent specializes in performance tuning, disaster recovery and automating SQL Server management. Previously, Brent spent 2 years at Southern Wine & Spirits, a Miami-based wine & spirits distributor. Brent has experience conducting training sessions, has written several technical articles, and blogs prolifically at http://www.BrentOzar.com.

Phil Simpson

Senior Business Development Manager, Microsoft

Phil is a global Business Development Manager for Microsoft’s Global ISV team based in Redmond.  His team within the Server and Tools division of Microsoft is responsible for working with the most strategic ISV partners for Microsoft globally. Phil has been managing the corporate relationship with Quest Software for almost 5 years now and works closely with Quest development and sales teams to ensure strategic alignment between the two companies and to help provide a valuable unified solution for our joint customers.  Prior to joining Microsoft in 2004, Phil held business development and sales positions at Adobe Systems where he worked for 6 years previously.

Dmitry Sotnikov

PowerShell MVP, New Project Research Manager, Quest Software

Dmitry Sotnikov has over eight years of experience working in the Windows management area, and is the author or multiple whitepapers, a regular blogger and a presenter at numerous trade shows, including: Microsoft Management Summit, WinHEC, Longhorn RDP Airlift and TechEd. The TechEd session which Dmitry co-presented became the 3rd most highly rated within the Windows Server Infrastructure track. He is currently leading the new product research and development team for Quest’s Windows Management business unit. Dmitry and his team are actively working with partners and customers to identify the new market opportunities that the company can use to expand its business. It is out of this team that most of Quest's new products and initiatives such as the new SharePoint line of business or the recent PowerShell initiatives emerge. Dmitry is also overseeing the Windows Management strategic roadmap and inter-product integration. He is Quest's main technical contact for Microsoft working on the day to day and strategic aspect of Quest's collaboration with this key partner.  Dmitry joined Quest as part of the Aelita Software acquisition and has held various managerial positions in technical communications, customer support, and product management.

Kirk Munro

PowerShell MVP, Product Architect, Quest Software

Kirk Munro is a Microsoft MVP and PowerShell Solutions Architect who has worked in the IT industry for over 12 years. He has spent the majority of that time creating and developing software solutions in the Windows Management space. At Quest Kirk spends his time working on PowerShell solutions, most notably PowerGUI, where he is responsible for the architecture, design and development of the PowerPacks that are used to extend the PowerGUI administrative console. When he's not working on PowerGUI, Kirk spends his time working with PowerShell in the community, presenting at conferences, launch events and user group events whenever he gets the opportunity. He also helps users learn PowerShell through his blog, as well as through PowerGUI forums and the Windows PowerShell newsgroup. It is through this community work that Kirk became the recipient of the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award, which recognizes his passion and expertise in Windows PowerShell.

Hugh McEvoy

Manager, Product Management, Quest Software

Hugh McEvoy manages product management for Foglight’s applications offerings, which include Java, .NET, ERP and CRM performance management solutions. His role includes market strategy, technical strategy, and setting development priorities. Hugh joined Quest Software in 1999. Prior to joining Quest, Hugh was a technical consultant for ParcPlace-Digitalk, one of the pioneers of object-orientated (OO) software technology, Smalltalk and Java. There, he managed a number of large-scale OO development projects. Hugh has a Ph.D. in Computer Science, awarded by the University of Amsterdam in 1997, and an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Imperial College, London, awarded in 1993.

Doug Davis

Product Director, SharePoint Solutions, Quest Software

Doug has worked in the IT industry for almost twenty years. He is a noted SharePoint expert, responsible for the strategic roadmap for Quest's SharePoint products. His current role at Quest is Product Director of the SharePoint Business Group. Doug came to Quest through its acquisition of FastLane Technologies. Before Quest, he worked in IT and development at Telesat Canada, a Canadian satellite company. Doug has a degree from Carleton University in Ottawa.

Keith Ridings

Product Manager, Exchange Migration, Quest Software

Keith Ridings, Quest Software product manager, specializes in Lotus Notes and Novell GroupWise migration and coexistence solutions to the Exchange Server/ Exchange Online platform. Ridings presented “Migration to Microsoft Online Services from Exchange and Non-Microsoft Platforms” at Microsoft TechEd 2009 with Microsoft Senior Program Manager Erik Ashby. He also co-authored the Quest white papers “Moving to “the Cloud”: Best Practices for Migrating from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange Online Standard” and “Avoid the Top 10 Exchange Migration Headaches”.  Previously, Ridings served as senior architect with Quest, delivering migration solutions and strategies to the enterprise. Before joining Quest, Ridings served as a network engineer for a large legal firm where he was responsible for the messaging environment and messaging applications.

Rob Sargent

Product Manager, Exchange Management - Quest Software

Rob Sargent is a product manager, specializing in product strategy for migration, troubleshooting and diagnostics solutions for messaging environments. Prior to joining Quest, Rob served as a messaging administrator with the City of Ottawa (Ontario).

Tim Ford

Senior DBA, Spectrum Health Hospital System

Tim Ford is a Senior Database Administrator for Spectrum Health Hospital System. He has been working with Microsoft SQL Server in the capacity of either a Developer/Analyst or Database Administrator since 1999. Tim also has experience as an Oracle DBA, Microsoft Office developer, Systems Engineer, and Web Developer. He is also an author of SQL-centric technical articles for MSSQLTips.com, SQLServerCentral, and Simple-Talk.com. His favorite aspect of SQL is mining information from the system databases for monitoring.  Tim has been a volunteer leader within the Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS) since 2002 and presents their annual Quizbowl event in addition to serving on their Programming Committee and Editorial Committee. He is also the leader of the recently-formed West Michigan SQL Server Users Group.  Timothy is a strong advocate for telecommuting, having done so in some capacity since 2000. He currently works out of his home office in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Tim has just completed his first book, on SQL Server Dynamic Management Objects, set for release in November 2009.

Tom LaRock

DBA, International Investment Company

Thomas LaRock is a seasoned IT professional with over a decade of technical and management experience. Currently serving as a database administration manager with ING Investment Management, Thomas has progressed through several roles at ING, including programmer, analyst, and DBA. Prior to ING, he worked at several software and consulting companies, working at customer sites in the United States and abroad. Thomas holds a MS degree in Mathematics from Washington State University and is a member of the Usability Professional’s Association. Thomas is also a member of Quest’s Association of SQL Server Experts, currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS), and is a SQL Server MVP.

Marc Stitt

Director, Product Marketing – Virtualization Management, Quest Software

Marc manages product marketing for Quest Software's virtualization management solutions. He is responsible for market research, product positioning, and developing go-to-market strategies. Marc has more than 15 years of experience in enterprise applications, systems management, and business consulting. Marc holds a B.S. in applied science from Miami University where he majored in engineering management and is ITIL foundation certified. 
Val Vasquez

Sales Evangelist, Active Directory, Quest Software

Having served 7 years at Quest, Valentin Vasquez has worked in a variety of customer facing roles. From performing migrations, to designing IAM deployments, Val enjoys interfacing with customers to help them derive maximum value from their Quest solutions. Today, his responsibilities as Senior Sales Evangelist revolve around servicing some of Quests largest customers, to ensure their satisfaction. Before joining Quest Software, Val worked at Arthur Andersen for 4 years in their Global Infrastructure division, designing and deploying Systems Management solutions to over 2,200 Windows servers across the world. His knowledge of Microsoft platforms, experience in crafting technology process solutions, and skill at delivering training to world-wide audiences, made him a natural fit for his role at Quest Software.

John Spirko

Product Management Director, Quest Software

John Spirko, Foglight product manager, joined Quest Software in 2001. He has presented on End User Management-related topics with organizations throughout the U.S. for the last six years. John is primarily focused on providing requirements and direction for a suite of products that map business objectives to end-user behavior. He has over 12 years of industry experience as a software engineer, developer, DBA and system consultant. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Jonathan Sander

IAM & Security Analyst, Quest Software

Jonathan Sander has been a senior member of Quest’s consulting team since 1999. Working with both the security and performance management product lines, he has designed architected and implemented solutions for the largest and smallest customers Quest has. When Quest launched the Quest One Identity Solution as its platform for IAM and security, Jonathan took the position as its chief evangelist. Previous to Quest, Jonathan was a presales consultant at Platinum Technology focusing on the security, access control and SSO solutions. Jonathan graduated from Fordham University in 1996 with a degree in Philosophy.

Ron Robbins

Product Manager, Specializing in Archiving and Compliance, Quest Software

Ron Robbins is a product manager for Quest Software, where he guides the product direction of the company's archiving solutions for e-mail, files and SharePoint. An MCSE, Ron has provided Exchange migration, archiving and e-Discovery assistance to Quest's customers and strategic partners for more than a decade. He has also served as an Exchange consultant for many organizations, including a Fortune 500 company, and has co-authored with Microsoft an article on Exchange migration considerations. As product manager, Robbins guides the product direction of Quest Software's solutions for email, file and SharePoint archiving.  Ron holds a bachelor's degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Tim Fountain

Systems Consultant, Notes Migration Solutions, Quest Software

Tim Fountain is a Systems Consultant at Quest Software working with Quest's SharePoint solutions and specializing in Lotus Notes migrations.  Tim came to Quest via the acquisition of Proposion Software where he led the technical sales functions.  Prior to Proposion, he worked at Instant Technologies supporting their line of products for the Microsoft Office Communications Server and Lotus Sametime instant messaging platforms.  With more than 15 years experience in the IT industry, he's held a wide variety of positions in quality control, support and product management.

Dustin Johnson

Sr. Global Solution Architect, Dell

Dustin is in Dell's Global Infrastructure Consulting Services group, Microsoft Practice. Dustin has over 15 years experience in architecting infrastructure solutions based on Messaging technologies. Dustin also previously lead Dell IT's Global Messaging Infrastructure.
Zev Rubenstein

Alliance Manager, NetApp

At NetApp, Zev is responsible for partner alliances around Archival and Enterprise Content Management solutions. Mr. Rubenstein has over twenty years of experience in business development, strategic planning, sales and marketing, consulting, and project management. His industry experience spans banking, telecommunications, information security, and manufacturing. Zev has held various positions at AT&T, Bank of America, Exxon, Lucent and Verizon, and has been responsible for a variety of initiatives ranging from laboratory automation to corporate-wide wireless strategies. Zev has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Cooper Union in New York, NY.
Matt Fangman

Director, Unified Communications, Microsoft

As Director of Unified Communications at Microsoft Corp., Matt is responsible for the Unified Communication revenue and competitive scorecard for the US Enterprise Subsidiary. Matt works with customers and partners to ensure that Microsoft's product strategy is in alignment with current customer business and technical requirements. Matt joined Microsoft in 1997 as a senior consultant within Microsoft Consulting Services. Matt rose within the technical community to be a Program Manager for the BizTalk team and was a part of 3 releases of that product. Matt's position prior to joining the Unified Communications team was working with the Enterprise Search Group leading the US sales and engineering efforts. Matt is married with two children. He is an active outdoorsman, he skis, snowboards and plays golf.
