Kevin Kline

Technology Director and Microsoft MVP – SQL Server

Kevin has more than 18 years of experience in the IT industry and is a recognized SQL Server expert. In addition to being a Microsoft SQL Server MVP, Kevin is a regular contributor to database technology magazines and discussion forums. Kevin is the author of the O'Reilly titles SQL in a Nutshell and Transact-SQL Programming. He is currently president of PASS - the international SQL Server user group.

Jackson Shaw

Sr. Product Management Director – Identity and Access Management

Jackson Shaw has been involved with directory, meta-directory and security initiatives for almost twenty years. He has spoken at various industry events and writes a popular identity management blog. Jackson oversees product direction, strategy and go-to-market activities for Quest's suite of Active Directory management products.

Jackson joined Quest Software with its acquisition of Vintela. Prior to Quest, he worked for Microsoft Corp, where he was responsible for product planning and marketing for Microsoft's identity and access management products, including Active Directory and Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS) 2003.

Before joining Microsoft in 1999, Jackson served as vice president of sales for Toronto-based ZOOMIT, and held IT management roles at the International Development Research Centre.

Jackson has been involved in directory, meta-directory, and security initiatives since 1988. He studied computer science and management information systems at the University of Ottawa. He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery.

Dmitry Sotnikov

Manager, New Product Research – PowerShell

Dmitry Sotnikov has over eight years of experience working in the Windows management area, and is the author of multiple whitepapers, a regular blogger and a presenter at numerous trade shows, including: Microsoft Management Summit, WinHEC, Longhorn RDP Airlift and TechEd. The TechEd session which Dmitry co-presented became the 3rd most highly rated within the Windows Server Infrastructure track. He is currently leading the new product research and development team for Quest's Windows Management business unit.

Dmitry and his team are actively working with partners and customers to identify the new market opportunities that the company can use to expand its business. It is out of this team that most of Quest's new products and initiatives such as the new SharePoint line of business or the recent PowerShell initiatives emerge.

Dmitry is also overseeing the Windows Management strategic roadmap and inter-product integration. He is Quest's main technical contact for Microsoft working on the day to day and strategic aspect of Quest's collaboration with this key partner.

Michael Tweddle

Technical Director – Active Directory

With more than ten years of experience working in the areas of migration, Exchange and AD management and compliance, Michael Tweddle is the technical director for Quest's Active Directory, Identity and Access Management solutions. He is responsible for technical direction and field execution, and works closely with the product team, development and sales. Prior to this position, he managed architecture specialists in various Windows Management areas.

Prior to Quest, Michael worked for Exxon Mobil and Anadarko Petroleum. He has a degree in Management Information Systems from Texas Tech University and a Masters degree in Finance from St. Thomas University.

Joe Baguley

Global Product Director – Windows Management

With over 14 years of experience in IT, Joe Baguley has extensive field experience in deploying and managing large-scale infrastructures. He regularly writes and presents on the key challenges facing companies globally in an increasingly complex and integrating world. Based in the UK, as global product director, Joe is responsible for driving product strategy for Quest's global accounts and territories outside of North America with Quest's product teams and sales management.

Prior to joining Quest 7 years ago, Joe held a variety of consulting positions for companies such as HP and MCI Worldcom.  Joe studied Computer Science at Imperial College, London.

Doug Davis

Product Director – SharePoint

Doug has worked in the IT industry for almost twenty years. He is a noted SharePoint expert, responsible for the strategic roadmap for Quest's SharePoint products. His current role at Quest is Product Director of the SharePoint Business Group. Doug came to Quest through its acquisition of FastLane Technologies. Before Quest, he worked in IT and development at Telesat Canada, a Canadian satellite company. Doug has a degree from Carleton University in Ottawa.
Scott M. Herold

Lead Architect – Virtualization

Scott brings a decade of relevant industry experience in operating system, network, security, and storage design. Herold has been a pioneer in architecting advanced virtualization solutions for many Fortune 100 organizations in R&D and implementation roles.  He is one of the co-authors of the best selling VMware ESX Server: Advanced Technical Design Guide and the new VMware Infrastructure 3: Advanced Technical Design Guide. He often contributes whitepapers and articles to online publications focused on virtualization and he has been recognized on numerous occasions for his contributions to the VMware and the virtualization community.
Hugh McEvoy

Manager, Product Management — Foglight

As part of the product team for application management, Hugh is responsible for ensuring Quest's success in the Java, .NET and packaged application performance management markets worldwide. This role includes Quest's market strategy, marketing strategy, technical product strategy, and development strategies for our application product lines.

Prior to moving into Product Management, Hugh was Director of Business Development for Quest Software EMEA's application management business and, prior to that, UK Sales Manager for Channels & Alliances. Hugh has been with Quest Software since 1999.


Before Quest Software, Hugh was a technical consultant in ParcPlace-Digitalk, one of the pioneers of object-orientated (OO) software technology, Smalltalk & Java. Hugh has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, awarded in 1997.

Darin Pendergraft

Senior Product Manager – PowerShell

Darin is a Senior Product Manager for the PowerGUI product line at Quest Software.  In this role he is primarily responsible for overseeing product roadmap for PowerGUI as well as overall PowerShell integration strategy for Quest's Windows Management products.

Darin has been at Quest Software for over 10 years, serving in various roles in Technical Support, Marketing and Product Management.  He has experience working in all 3 major product divisions within Quest Software: Database Management, Application Management and Windows Management.

Darin has a Bachelor's Degree in Geophysics, and a Master's Degree in Geology from U.C. Riverside.

Keith Ridings

Product Manager – Exchange Migration

Keith is a product manager for Quest Software, specializing in migration solutions to the Exchange Server platform. Previously, he was a senior architect with Quest, delivering migration solutions and strategies to the enterprise. Before joining Quest, Ridings served as a network engineer for a large legal firm where he was responsible for the messaging environment and messaging applications.
Keri Farrell

Product Manager –
E-Discovery

Keri is a product manager at Quest Software specializing in Exchange and eDiscovery both for internal and external investigations.  She is a former senior systems consultant and has 12 years IT experience with firms such as Iron Mountain, Boston Scientific and Safety 1st.  Her expertise is in helping companies create policies and procedures of discovering email data from tape backups, and training teams about email record definitions and journaling.  Keri has co-authored numerous technical documents, including a recent whitepaper on Microsoft Systems Center Data Protection Manager.  She has a BSBA with a concentration in Computer Information Systems from Bryant University. 
Rob Mallicoat

Senior Solutions Architect – Windows Management

Rob is a Senior Solutions Architect with Quest Software who works on the Microsoft campus.  He is focused on Quest's Windows Management products supporting: System Center, SharePoint, Identity Management, Compliance and enterprise monitoring.  For the past 4 years, Rob has worked with hundreds of customers and partners in the role of technical advisor as it relates to back-end infrastructure and management needs related to: MOM/Systems Center Operations Manager, SMS/System Center Configuration Manager, SharePoint, Active Directory, Exchange, IIS and Unix/Linux. 

Before joining Quest, Rob was a Senior Pre-Sales Consultant at BMC Software, Inc. for 7 years where he focused on web application and enterprise infrastructure monitoring.  Rob has been working with Microsoft products in the enterprise since Windows NT 3.1.

Brent Ozar

SQL Server Domain Expert

Brent is a SQL Server Domain Expert based in the Houston area with Quest Software. Brent has a decade of broad IT experience, performing systems administration and project management before moving into database administration. In his current role, Brent specializes in performance tuning, disaster recovery and automating SQL Server management. Previously, Brent spent 2 years at Southern Wine & Spirits a Miami-based wine & spirits distributor. Brent has experience conducting training sessions, has written several technical articles, and blogs prolifically at http://www.brentozar.com/.
Denny Cherry

Sr. Database Administrator and Architect, Awareness Technologies

Denny has over a decade of experience managing SQL Server, including MySpace.com's over 175 million user installation, one of the largest in the world. Denny's areas of technical expertise include system architecture, performance tuning, replication and troubleshooting.  Denny uses these skills on a regular basis in his current role as a Sr. Database Administrator and Architect at Awareness Technologies. Denny is a longtime member of PASS and Quest Software's Association of SQL Server Experts and has written numerous technical articles on SQL Server management.
Jason Hall

Solutions Architect

Jason is a solutions architect for Quest Software, specializing in the architecture and implementation of disaster recovery and high availability solutions. Jason has also done extensive work in the field specializing in performance monitoring and tuning. In addition to on-site customer facing work, Jason has presented on Disaster Recovery to SQL Server Users Groups in Houston, Seattle and Chicago, as well as at SQL PASS conferences and SQL Server Summits.
Charles Clarke

Senior Consultant – Windows Management

Charles is a senior consultant with Quest Software working in the Windows Management group, but with a special focus on Quests system center solutions. As a former Microsoft MVP on SMS he has trained and consulted on Microsoft's management technologies for around 10 years.
Marc Stitt

Manager, Product Marketing – Application Management and Virtualization

Marc manages product marketing for Quest Software's application management and virtualization solutions. His responsibilities include market research, product positioning, and developing go-to-market strategies. Marc has more than 15 years of experience in ERP, supply chain, e-commerce, application management and business consulting and is ITIL foundation certified.  Marc holds a B.S. in applied science from Miami University where he majored in engineering management.
