For over 20 years, Lanny Floyd has challenged the status quo of electrical
safety in the workplace. His work has advanced the application of human
factors engineering, electrical technology and safety management in preventing
occupational electrical injuries.
During his 19 year career at DuPont, Dan Bowen has held a variety of roles
in technical marketing, product management and sales. He is currently a
technical marketing specialist for the DuPont Personal Protection business.

Principal Consultant - Electrical Safety & Technology
H. Landis Floyd II, Principal Consultant - Electrical Safety & Technology at DuPont, is a well recognized expert in the areas of electrical technology and safety management. He has authored or co-authored more than 25 published papers and articles on electrical safety, and received seven prize paper awards from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). In 2000, he was elected to Fellow in the IEEE, with the citation, "for contributions to improve workplace electrical safety". In 2002, he was awarded the IEEE Richard Harold Kaufmann Technical Field Award, "for advancing the development and application of electrical safety technology, standards and work practices for industrial systems". In 2004, he was co-recipient of the IEEE Medal for Engineering Excellence, with the citation,. "for pioneering development of empirical models for predicting electric arc incident energy; and development of protective clothing classes based upon layering of flame resistant fabrics".
Mr. Floyd has been active in IEEE technical committees since 1983. He is currently President of the Industry Applications Society, and Chair of the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee. He is a member of the National Fire Protection Association and has represented the IEEE on the National Electrical Code Panel 1 since 1990. He serves on the Board of Directors of Electrical Safety Foundation International, is a registered professional engineer in the State of Delaware, and is a Professional Member of American Society of Safety Engineers.
Dan Bowen
Eastern Region Technical Marketing Specialist
Dan joined DuPont in 1990 where he has held a number of positions within various DuPont business units. During his tenure with DuPont his roles have included; technical marketing/product support specialist, market development manager, product manager, regional sales representative, and regional channel manager. In addition to these positions Dan has also been extensively involved with research and development and been a key member and leader of many new product introduction teams. He is currently the United States technical marketing specialist for DuPont Personal Protection, a business unit that provides protective apparel for industry, law enforcement, fire service, and military applications.
